Welcome to Gabbe Zuniga!

We extend our warmest welcome to Gabbe Zuniga, who has joined the lab as an M.D./Ph.D. student! Gabbe's undergraduate research was performed in the lab of Dr. John Pierce-Shimomura's at UT Austin, where she worked to identify novel pharmaceuticals that prevent neurodegeneration in a C. elegans model of Alzheimer's disease. Gabbe and Bess graduated from the same high school, so now we not only have Drosophila and human brain in the laboratory, we have two Dragons.
