Dr. Frost awarded SALSI Clusters in Research Excellence Award
Dr. Frost and collaborators Dr. George Perry, Dr. Stephan Bach, and Dr. German Plascencia-Villa have been awarded a grant from the San Antonio Life Sciences Institute to study the complex microanatomy of neuronal nuclei in Alzheimer's disease brains versus healthy aged brains. Specifically, they are using recent technological innovations, including Imaging Mass Spectrometry and Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscopy to locate and quantify biomolecules involved in nucleoplasmic reticulum formation in Alzheimer's disease.
